Some events in your school require risk assessment to be documented. You are able to link external risk assessment information directly to your event, or utilise the templated risks and controls in the Events Library to populate this area of your events as you are creating them, to save time.
CREATING RISK AND CONTROLS TO USE IN YOUR EVENTS
- Navigate to the Events Library in the Administration menu and select Risks from the dropdown options
- Here you will see a list of any risks and controls that already exist in your events library
Risks are the potential hazards you might encounter
Controls are the ways that you mitigate these risks. Each risk will have controls associated with it.
The buttons next to each one will be greyed out (not available) if the risk or control is in use. You will only be able to delete any that are not being used in your calendar or templates.
- To create a new Risk or Control click the red plus button
Select if you are making a Risk or a Control. Controls can also be created when you are making a Risk so the following will document this process however, you are able to create a control separately by selecting Add Control here.
To add a new risk select Add Risk
Enter the name of the risk and a description
- Enter the controls that will mitigate this risk:
Enter an existing control from the Controls library.
In the Controls box, either start typing or press space bar to bring up a list of controls and select as appropriate.
Adding a new control by clicking the + button
Add a Name and Description of the Control then click SAVE CONTROL. The new control will be linked to the Risk and added to the Controls library to be used again.
Click SAVE RISK to enter it into the library for use
EDITING A RISK OR CONTROL
To edit a Risk or Control in the Risks library:
Click the Pencil icon next to the Risk or Control you would like to edit
- Make any required changes and click SAVE RISK/CONTROL
To delete a risk or Control from the Risks Library:
Click the rubbish bin icon next to the Risk or Control you would like to delete
Confirm by clicking DELETE or click CANCEL to go back. Deleting a risk or control cannot be undone.
If the delete button is greyed out, this means the risk is already linked to an event (or in the case of a control, it is linked to a risk) and cannot be removed at this time.
