Event Options are choices that a caregiver needs to make regarding an event e.g. an activity choice, food choice, equipment required for an activity. An Event Option can also have an associated additional cost and choice limits.
School Hero Administrators can manage the event options that are available to be used in events from the Events Library. New options that are created when making a new event will be added to the library automatically.
ADDING A NEW EVENT OPTION IN THE EVENTS LIBRARY
Navigate to the Events Library in the Administration menu and select Options from the dropdown options
Here you will find a list of any event options that already exist in your events library
- To create a new event option click the red + button
Enter the name of your new option in the Options Label e.g.
Enter what you would like caregivers to see for this Option in the Option Label (for caregivers) e.g.
Select your Option type
Select the Option Type from one of the following options:
Radio boxes - small circle to be clicked (single selection only)
e.g.
Checkbox(es) - small square boxes to be clicked (multiple boxes can be selected)
e.g.
- Select - a dropdown list of options will be displayed for selection (single selection only)
Switch - a slider which must be either On or Off. This differs to a Radio Button which can be blank
e.g.
Number - a number value must be entered (select from Integers (whole numbers) or decimal numbers)
e.g.
Enter Option Options if prompted. Radio Boxes, Checkboxes and Select will all require options to be added. Enter the name in the Label field. The name will default to the Value field. Click the plus to add the option.
Note: remember to click the plus on your last option to save it as an option
8. Click SAVE OPTION to save
EDITING AN OPTION
To edit an event option:
Click the Pencil icon next to the option you would like to edit
- Make any required changes and click SAVE OPTIONS
To delete event option from the Options library:
Click the rubbish bin icon next to the option you would like to delete
Confirm by clicking DELETE or click CANCEL to go back.
Note: Deleting an option cannot be undone.
If the buttons are greyed out, this means the option is already linked to an event and cannot be edited or removed at this time.
