Some posts are more important than others and need to remain visible for extended periods of time.
A feature exists in Hero, to pin a single post to the top of the Staff, Student and/or Community Feeds. A post will remain at the top until the post is unpinned or an alternative post is pinned and takes its place. Caregivers, students and staff will see a pinned post at the top of the feed when viewing via the relevant apps. Caregivers with students at multiple Hero Schools may view a pinned post for each school they have access to.
Only staff with administrator access and designated permission can pin a post. Permission can be granted by the Principal or Principal's delegate.
AUTHORISING A STAFF MEMBER TO PIN A POST
1. Navigate to the Administration menu. If you have a wide-screen device this will already be visible on the left-hand side of your screen. If not, click on the Administration menu icon at the top left-hand side of your screen.
2. Select Staff Members
3. Locate the staff member's profile and click on the Profile Image.
4. Ensure the Is a Hero administrator slider is set to ON (red).
5. Click on PERMISSIONS
6. Click the Can Pin Posts permission checkbox to enable this feature.
7. Click the green save icon to confirm any changes.
PINNING A POST TO THE TOP OF A FEED
1. Click on the Staff Homepage icon in the top menu.
2. Navigate to the STAFF, STUDENT or COMMUNITY FEED
3. Find the post you wish to pin and click the Menu icon (3 dots).
4. Click Pin this post.
5. The post will go to the top and will be flagged to all users as a pinned post.
UNPINNING A PINNED POST
A post can be manually unpinned or it can be replaced with a new pinned post. This will happen automatically if another posted is pinned.
1. To manually unpin a post, click the Menu icon (3 dots).
2. Click Unpin this post. The post will revert back to its original position based on the creation date.
