When logged into Hero, any staff member or caregiver can view any notifications of new posts that have been sent to them via "The Bell". These are called 'push' notifications.
The Bell icon is located in the top right-hand corner of your screen. A red number will be displayed if you have any unread notifications.
ACCESSING YOUR NOTIFICATIONS LIST
1. Click the bell icon. This will show you the ten most recent notifications you have received about new posts, but not yet clicked on to view.
Note: notification of comments received are currently not visible in The Bell.
2. To read the post associated with any notification click on the title of the post in the notification
3. To mark a post as read, click on the envelope icon
4. To mark all of your visible notifications as read, click MARK THESE AS READ
5. To view all of your notifications whether you have read them or not in My Feed, click VIEW ALL
6. Here you will see some content of the post and if they are in draft (orange) or published (green) status. Note, caregivers will only see published posts.
7. You can choose to view any of the posts associated with a notification, or mark all of them as read
EXPLANATION OF NOTIFICATIONS IN THE BELL AND MY FEED
Notification of a post made to the Community Feed will display:
- the school logo
- the post title
- the name of the post author
- the date and time of the post
- the group or groups that the post was addressed to. Note, Parents will only see the groups that their children are in.
Notification of a post made to a student page will display:
- the profile picture of the student (hovering the cursor over this image will display the student's name)
- the title of the post
- the name of the page this post is on
- the name of the post author
- the date and time of the post
