Hero offers schools several exciting features to further customise what they share with parents!
In Hero, schools have the ability to customise the information their parents and whānau see. As part of the migration process, the settings in the “What can parents see?” page are turned off so that you have the opportunity to review these exciting new features.
New customisable features in Hero include:
About This Page - With the move to Hero, it is likely you will want to update your parent information slideshow. The team at LINC-ED have made a template slideshow with the new user interface and schools are invited to request a copy of this to personalise for their context. To do this please share, with editing rights, a blank Google slideshow titled [Name] School Parent Slideshow with caleb@linc-ed.com
Once you have personalised your slideshow and it is ready for sharing with parents, you can upload this in the What can parents see? page.
For parents to view the slideshow they will need to click on the About This Page link so it is important to advise them of this.
You also have the option to set different “About this Page” content for any page viewable by staff, parents and students.
Goal progressions - For schools automatically calculating best fit levels by progress through goals, you can select which goal subjects you make visible to teachers, students and parents.
Adding or Editing a Set of goals (Step 11).
Overall Teacher Judgements - For schools manually entering levels using sliders, you can add subjects additional to Maths, Reading, Writing.

Turning off the progress radial dial percentages - The progress radial dial percentages indicate the percentage of goals completed and currently being worked on by each student. Some schools choose to turn this feature off.

Once you have made the setting changes relating to content viewable by parents, you can view what a parent can see by going to any student’s Current Year Report page and clicking on VIEW AS CAREGIVER button.
