Deleting an Existing Assessment

Hero is designed to be flexible to meet the varied needs of different school contexts. School site administrators can add assessments for teachers to record scores in.   Assessments can be visible to staff, caregivers and students.

TO DELETE AN EXISTING ASSESSMENT

Deleting an assessment has widespread ramifications, so can only be carried out by the Hero Customer Support Team. 

Prior to requesting the delete of an assessment consider these points:

• Has the assessment been used or was it created in error? - deleting the assessment has no ramifications.  Contact CS to action the delete.
• If the assessment has been used, does the history need to be retained? - deleting the assessment will remove all history.  This cannot be undone.  If history is to be retained, you may prefer to remove the assessment from all pages rather than delete it.
• Is the assessment visible to caregivers or students as part of the students learning record? - an assessment forming part of a student learning record should be retained.
• Does the assessment have linked evidence/posts? - an assessment cannot be deleted with attached linked posts as these would become invisible to both staff and users.

When Customer Support action the delete of an assessment, they will advise you if the post is still attached to a page and ask what action you require if linked posts exist.  They see this popup.

If requesting a delete, please advise Customer Support on the option you require for linked posts.

• Unlink ALL Posts - these will cause all posts to become General Posts on the pages containing that assessment
• Delete ALL Linked Posts - all posts linked to this assessment will be permanently deleted.
