There are a variety of banners, icons and flags available on Hero to help staff gather information about a student quickly.
BANNERS
Student profiles have a banner across the top right-hand side of the image. The banner indicates the student's gender and year level. This information is generated from the student's information page.
The colour of gender banners is selected by a school site administrator. This can be changed by navigating to Basic options > Theming in the Administration Menu.
ETHNICITY FLAGS
When viewing a group page you will see ethnicity flags showing above student profiles. This enables you to see at a glance the nationalities within the group.
To find out what country a flag represents, you can run your cursor over the icon and the information will appear in a tooltip.
FADING ICONS
Icons indicate a student has had a post entered on a particular page within Hero. Each school selects which pages they wish to have icons for and what the symbols will be.
Icons remain visible for 18 months but fade over time. Adding a new post on the page will make the symbol appear bold again.
To find out what page an icon represents and when the last post was entered, you can run your cursor over the icon and the information will appear in a tooltip.
Clicking on the green icon will navigate you to the student's page.
MEDICAL FLAG
If a student has a life-threatening or serious medical condition staff need to be aware of, this information can be added to a student's information page in the Medical > Critical Information field. Entering information into this field generates a medical cross flag on their profile.
When you click on the student's information page (i) icon, the Critical Information will display at the top of the page:
ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS AND ALERTS
If a student has important information relating to caregiver access that staff need to be aware of, this information can be added to a student's Information > Living Arrangements > Access arrangements field.
Likewise if a student has important permission considerations, these can be added to a student's Information > Permissions (or Wellbeing for NSW) > Permission Alert.
Entering information into this field generates an alert flag on their profile. Hover on the Alert icon to view which alert applies. Either or both will show.
When you click on the student's information page (i) icon the Access Arrangement information will display at the top of the page:
